On January 28, 2011 millions of people were looking forward to the hit tv show Smallville’s return after the long holiday break.
As everybody sat down around their televisions at 8 pm that night, a surprise was delivered.
Smallville was not on!
It was not on our Canadian channels, Space The Imagination Station or channel 12, CHCH. You see what happened was that the hit show Vampire Diaries was beat out by American Idol in the ratings when it aired on January 27, 2011.
So the people in charge of The Vampire Diaries decided to air it again on January 28 in place of Smallville. 
If you ask me, they had no right to crush the spirits of people everywhere because they were greedy for ratings.
Sometimes it is just amazing how some people do not care about anybody but themselves. The people in charge of Vampire Diaries probably just wanted to get more ratings because it would make them look good if the show became very, very popular, which if you ask me is a long shot!
So now on February 4, 2011 at 8:00 at night Smallville fans everywhere can tune in to watch the new episode of Smallville titled Collateral.
As long as Vampire Diaries does okay in the ratings this week.

sorry about smallville. I am not into the Vampire Diaries…seems a bit too young for me. I do love “being human.” The UK version is much better, in my opinion but a little too racy. The SyFy version is growing on me.
I might start watching Smallville again. When did the other “superheroes” start appearing? I think that is when I want to pick start.
As early as Season 3 with Impulse I think. But the best superhero team-up was the Season 9 episode “Absolute Justice” with the JLA/JSA. Hawkman was incredible!
I agree, agree, agree. Smallville is a great show even though I thought it may have jumped the shark quite a while back when Lex left. As a fan of the Justice League cartoon, I love the fact that they’ve brought in other characters like Martian Manhunter, Hawkman and the Green Arrow.
I was already a fan of the original UK Being Human series and have started to get into the US version as well.
Thanks Sarah, for letting me in on why Smallville didn’t air when it was supposed to. I was super pissed and confused that night. LOL
I agree about Lex, but at least Rosenbaum has kept his voice busy with DC Animated movies, Lana just did one bad movie! Thanks for the visit.

Yes!
It’s been great this season. Past episodes have been spotty (especially the first season!), but the show’s greatest strength is the myriad of DC Comics characters that wander through Smallville and Metropolis.
It’s cool that you have a friend on the set, my daughter loves the show and is trying to get as many autographs from the cast as she can.
I just love Tom Welling as Superman…he comes in second after Chris Reeves for me. And i have a feeling he could give those Salvatore brothers a run for their money…
