#131: When The Butter Melts Too Quickly On Your Toast!

I hate when this happens.

Don’t we suffer enough in this cold, cruel world? You butter, you pour some coffee or milk, – whatever floats your morning boat – and by the time you sit down, all you have is two pieces of bread with no surface butter! There are supposed to be rivers of buttery goodness covering that bread, gosh darn it!

Can you tell I have a terrible headache today? Hey, that’s another terrible thing!

I’m on a roll…

  1. LOL!!!! Mister the Hook…. you are amazing!!!! Thanks!!!!

  2. A roll? I thought you were talking about toast?? Which is it? lol

  3. I’m with you on that one! Hot toast, butter and marmalade – mmmmm…….

  4. The only thing even more terrible would be if you come back and the ultra-cold butter is still in a chunk on the toast.
Sorry you’re feeling crumbly. (no one needs that.)

  5. > I hate when this happens.
    - You’re going to hate the sound of this even more – I love butter melting into my slice of toast!

It’s exactly why I risk first degree burns on my finger tips. Then, when the cooled slice has soaked up a, um, satisfactory amount of butter, I slather on s’more. So that I can see the butter, of course. I need to see it first because the feeling of butter soaked bread ain’t good enough. We eat with our eyes first, you know?

(This was a daily occurrence until my mid twenties, which is when I made the gradual switch to a healthy diet. Now, butter soaked toast is part of my Sunday brekkie routine only. Gotta live when I’m alive, yes?)

    >I’m on a roll…
    - Roll away, roll away, roll away…. (To be sung to the tune of Enya’s ‘Sail Away’.)

    >Can you tell I have a terrible headache today?
-‘Today’ was yesterday, so I hope TODAY is a better day for ya, Hook.

    Kate

    P.S.: >Hot toast, butter and marmalade – mmmmm…….
    - gingerfightback, I hear ya! Mmmmm indeed!

  6. I didn’t know butter can melt too fast. I spend half my toast time hoping it will melt faster :)

  7. I actually love the meltiness. I do understand how frustrating it is when toast doesn’t come out the way you want it though.

  8. Just catching up. And I see Slurpee Lite and buttered toast. Are you trying to challenge our food posts?
