First of all, go read 1000 Awesome Things (I refuse to post a link!) and then we’ll talk…
Back already? All right, here we go…
If you missed it, the post was supposed to contain the #1 most “AWESOME!” thing in the known universe. Bear in mind, this was the culmination of years of “work” on the part of one blogger who had lost his best friend and then found himself kicked to the curb by his high school sweetheart/wife. It was a personal journey out of loserdom and into heroism.
And he did indeed achieve his personal hero quest; millions have bought his books and inflated his personal fortunes – and ego – while enriching their own lives. It has become an “Everybody Wins!” situation.
And the release of #1 was supposed to be a bittersweet moment, enjoyed by a legion of fans at a Toronto bookstore and recorded for posterity by television news crews and journalists.
I would have loved to see their faces when they realized they’d been had. Here it is folks, reprinted in its entirety.
#1 Anything you want it to be

That’s it. One word keeps ringing in my head as I ponder this “post’, “Sopranos”.
Sure, it was Neil Pasricha’s party and he was free to do whatever he wanted to do with it, but COME ON!!!
Seriously?
He had the opportunity to really say something of value to people, something they would have carried with them as they made their own personal journey into the world. Pasricha has named himself the founder of the “AWESOME MOVEMENT“, but when the moment of true leadership arrived, he left his followers twisting in the wind.
I know many of you won’t agree with my stance, but I’m simply being true to myself; I’ve always been the guy who says what EVERYONE ELSE IS THINKING!
I know in my heart of hearts that a LARGE portion of Pasricha’s followers felt letdown by this particular dose of “AWESOME!” Kool-aid.
I’m simply crazy enough to vocalize my outrage.
Have an AWESOME! day folks, mine has just been tainted.

BHHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! Another one of the good things about living in China!!!!
You know what they say… expect the unexpected! From the quick read I just did of the site, I think it was a perfect ending. People today are so… in need of people telling them every little thing they should do and think. Leaving the ending like this might just make people open their eyes and realise that they need to take control of their own lives and not let a guru tell them what to think or do.
But then again… I could be talking out of my arse here. Maybe I should have read it a little better, but to be honest… I really cannot be bothered too! I read The Book of Terrible because it IS an awesome read!
You flatter me, my good woman!
Thank you for all your support!
At least he didn’t stoop to playing “Don’t Stop Believing” when he offered up this trite turd of “wisdom.” Pretty lame stuff, I agree.
Glad to hear I’m not alone!
Sopranos? hahaha
.
Seriously! I always think of that show when faced with a BS ending!
Now the real question is, how do we come up with some lame ass scheme to tell people absolutely nothing and get paid for it??
Let me know the second you come up with something, Tiffany!
I’m definitely working on it… surely there is some way for me to tap into this make money for nothing idea. My kids need new Nikes! LOL
I hear you! Good luck!
Now you know what song is stuck in my head… “Money for nothing and your chicks for free…” HAHA
Sorry, Tiffany!
Just too easy to take the easy way out
Well said!
I have never been one that wanted to buy the books, bc well my life is just that “awesome”
Good for you!

. I’ve ruffled a few feathers in my time, speaking my mind.

LOL, and it I was thinking I was that person.
So we have that in common, that’s all right!
