I believe a lack of creativity is to blame for this latest holiday trend.
How else do you explain the sudden emergence of this latest fad? I mean, I hate the whole concept of “cool and uncool”, but come on! Who are people – by “people”, I mean fashion “experts” – trying to kid with this latest scam?
Ugly is ugly, people.

Aunt Betsy may have had her heart in the right place – and her meds mixed-up – but her holiday gift was and always be fugly. You can call a box of dog feces wrapped in a stylish design with a pretty bow a masterpiece and tout it around town as the latest hip trend…. but it still stinks!
Then again, what do I know? You should see my wardrobe!

There is a group in Maine that is trying to get the Guiness Book of world records to acknowledge the most ugly sweaters in one place. There are certainly some really ugly sweaters out there.
There sure are! Interesting record to set, though.
I’m actually having my ugly sweater party tonight but I’m a sucker for good theme party. I had a Magic Mall party. The Magic Mall is an indoor “urban” flea market in Orlando. You can get anything from a new grill (for your teeth, not to be confused with a cooker), rims, airbrushed tee-shirts or a full-faced ski mask (again, I live in Orlando, nobody’s doing any skiing here).
Cool party concepts! Thanks for the visit!
Great thing about China. No ugly holiday sweaters. But ugly sweaters every other day.
I’m sorry to hear that, Woman!
OMG! My 14 year old daughter is onto this same fashionable trend. She gave me a Christmas list last night and among an iPhone 4, a room makeover (including new bed and flat screen tv) she’s asking for a corny holiday sweater. In the back of my mind, I’m thinking “What is she getting ready for? Next Christmas? But she’s gung ho about it so…. I’m HOOK’ed on making her happy. Me thinks I’ll buy into the “The Sudden Hipness of Ugly Holiday Sweaters” — because it will make her smile.
Cheesy,
Qui
The iPhone is enough, never mind the makeover and the “fashionable” sweater! You’re a great mom, by the way.
I think they should make Holiday Zubas, just maximize the fug.
Good thinking!
Just wait, by next year they’ll be accessorizing those things with reindeer legwarmers.
I’m shuddering at the thought…
