There’s no question, cellular technology has changed the world.

But the Catch-22 scenario is in full effect here.

For every time your phone has come in handy, you’ve cursed some jerk who won’t even acknowledge your presence because they’re engaged in some mindless, trivial chat on their phone!

And let’s face it, 90% of cell phone conversations consist of “So, what are you doing tonight?”, or “What do you mean you’re late?”

The younger generation has completely embraced the notion of worshiping at the temple of cellular technology. The cell phone is their Machine God! But make no mistake, adults are just as guilty of carrying the “cellular monkey” around with them.

And let’s not even discuss those reckless individuals who still insist on operating their phones while driving. They are completely oblivious to the lives they put in danger, but on the plus side, they stay in the loop with all their friends.

  1. It’s the ones driving and talking that get me riled up. They don’t pay attention to what they should be doing–driving.

  2. My latest blog post was about this exact topic! I’ve come to believe technology can be as much of a divide as it is a bridge–all depending on how we use it.

  3. I don’t own a cell phone, and it’s very sad the state of our younger generation with cells glued to head.

  4. AT first I thought I was going to have to confess I was a cell phone addict too, but I almost never use mine to talk. I think I am a smartphone addict. The app I check the most often is my WordPress comments and stats. It’s like crack. I need to know if my hits went up from 26 page views to 27 page views.

  5. I confess, I’m a bit of a smartphone addict too. I’m constantly checking Facebook and email. c’est la vie.

  6. It’s a shame that texting drivers don’t simply remove themselves from the earth by hitting concrete barriers instead of motoring families.

  7. I only got texting 9 or 10 months ago, primarily because most people doing it seem so horribly annoying…
