Quality control has always been Superman’s real kryptonite.
A integral component of DC Comics‘ realunch campaign for September appears to be updated looks for their iconic characters. Case in point, a streamlined look for the Last Son of Krypton.

There will be a lot of print and cyber space devoted to the examination of this decision prior to the launch, but personally, only one phrase comes to mind.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
A gripping story and dynamic artwork is all a comic book needs, never mind flashy threads for your hero. A guy in a suit can be just as interesting as someone right off the catwalk.
In the right hands.

Superman will always be Superman, no matter how he’s dressed.
True, but my point is still valid, the costume change is a distraction and no substitute for solid storytelling.
I can’t figure out why Superman needs kneepads…
Best not to think about it, I guess!
I personally think this is going to be the downfall of printed comics. DC comics’ reinventing itself is an absolute horrible idea. I’m losing many good titles like Red Robin and Villains United and even Titans. They try these reboots every few years with all the different “Crisis” story lines. At least there they merged conflicted histories into one continuity. This is completely trashing the origin stories and even adding other Comic companies characters like Grifter and the rest of Wildcats. Just really not impressed with this decision. Unfortunately I think because of this a lot of loyal comic buyers will stop buying and start downloading. I know one guy who already does
They’ll probably end up undoing the reboot in a year anyway. Just hang in there!
