What’s the deal with The Walt Disney Company and their female idols? Have they all been mentored by Charlie Sheen?
Demi Lovato, fallen idol and star of the Disney tween comedy Sonny With A Chance has decided not to return to the show that made her a star in the first place.
Lovato made headlines for all the wrong reasons last year when she did the Hollywood thing and entered a treatment facility for three months for “emotional and physical issues”.
These issues have been revealed as self-mutilation (cuts on her forearms) and bi-polar disorder. Lovato’s world came crashing down while she toured with ex-squeeze Joe Jonas (Tremendously bad idea!) and he decided to bring along his new squeeze Ashley Greene of Twilight fame!
Not surprisingly, Lovato snapped under the pressure and assaulted one of her backup singers.
Now she’s back, but Disney claims she wishes to focus on her career and “not immediately” return to acting. Apparently Lovato told People magazine that returning to the show “wouldn’t be healthy for her recovery and that she wants to make music her priority“.
Yeah, Demi, the music industry doesn’t have the rampant drug or other harmful abuses use you find in the acting biz.

*facepalms…….
Always a pleasure, Woman!
Supposedly she went because of eating disorders and depression. Hmmm
Apparently she was cutting herself as well. These poor kids!
I’d like to see kids remain kids…there’s plenty of time for grown up stuff. Put into grown up situations and responsibilities too soon, they don’t know how to deal with it all. It’s just too much. In this case, as in so many others, the price paid for ‘success’ is too high.
Definitely too high.
It’s sad too see this multi billion dollar corporation mass produce these kids. I mean, they are still kids and they do need mentoring. Once these kids become rich and ubber famous the people around them become ‘yes,’ people. They will get them whatever illicit drug or drink at any time of the night. They will close their eyes then they should be helping. Britney Spears was also part of the Disney factory. She went stellar famous and bottomed out. All the while the people around her just gave in to her every whim. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about these pop stars who have crashed and burned. I quite sad for them. They have everything they could want, but no one really helps. It’s shocking and these huge corporations need to take the responsiblity of these kids when they hit the wall. They can’t place all the blame on the kids saying it’s their decision, because if they are under 18 in most countries it’s not their decision.
GOsh, I’ve rambled.
But it was good ramble! Keep it up!
But she wasn’t the one with the promise rings, was she?
I don’t think so. She was dating one of the Jonas Brothers and after they broke up she went on tour with them! If that wasn’t foolish enough, her ex brought his new girl, Ashley Greene of Twilight, on tour as well! The pressure was too much and Lovato broke down.

You said it! That factory has been working overtime.
It’s sad that the media puts so much pressure on women, in general, NOT just celebrities to be super skinny. If it’s true about her eating disorder, then I feel bad for her…Nobody should have to feel like they need to starve or throw up to be beautiful.
No, but people need to ignore society’s conventions and be comfortable with who they are.
I blame it all on Walt Disney’s cryogenically frozen head.
Me too.
I can’t really appreciate the situation since we don’t have Disney channel. Should I feel sorry or what? XD
I wouldn’t bother. She has money, fame , parents who love her and more support than most.
